Alcoa Part of Global Group Framing Positive Action in Energy, Climate Change
Alcoa has joined with numerous global corporate and NGO members of the Global Roundtable on Climate Change, an initiative of The Earth Institute at Columbia University, to endorse a framework that will continue to push for positive actions in the areas of climate change and clean energy.
Representatives from these diverse groups signed a statement that asks governments to set stronger parameters regarding target levels for greenhouse gases and carbon dioxide emissions, among other energy-related issues. Alcoa Chairman and CEO Alain Belda said, "I am convinced that we can build a global plan of action on climate change in ways that create more economic opportunities than risks."
