Alcoa is the sponsor and host of the 45th Rolling Seminar – Rolled and Coated Products and Processes, between October 21 and 24, which will show the best practices that have been created and established in the area of mechanical shaping and rolling in companies. The event, which is being promoted by the Brazilian Metallurgy Association (ABM), will take place at the Enotel Porto de Galinhas Resort, in Porto de Galinhas, PE (PE-09 highway, Gleba 6BA, Ipojuca, Porto de Galinhas).

“The aluminum we produce provides our customers with the opportunity to create and manufacture an enormous variety of safe, sustainable and high quality products. Furthermore, thanks to aluminum’s characteristics and versatility it contributes to social progress all over the world” explains Paulo Nakamichi, Technical-Sales Manager for Alcoa.

Alcoa produces rolled products for the most varied sectors, with aluminum being used in the form of sheet and foil in both machinery and equipment. It can be found in civil construction (coverings and wall cladding systems), packaging, electrical transformers, industrial, commercial and automotive refrigeration systems, and so on.

For the consumer goods segment Alcoa has products with strict controls over their dimensions and mechanical properties. The Company is also the only manufacture of rolled aluminum products in Brazil to have its own paint line, offering blanks (sheets in various sizes and format) and rolls that are pre-painted with polyester-based paints and are a much-used product in the market,.

In the packaging sector Alcoa uses the most advanced technology for rolling foil, supplying materials with thicknesses as little as 0.006 millimeters. This is possible thanks to constant investments in equipment and its modernization.

The aluminum foil and sheet produced by Alcoa are widely used in the most varied of applications and have superior performance. The Company’s foil rolling operations are ISO 9001 and ISO 14000 certified and production is strictly controlled.
